The Essentials Every Girl Needs In Her Handbag.

Jessica DeBano

Happy Sunday!

On Sundays, I like to sleep in. It’s not uncommon for me to sleep in past noon on any given day-off. I usually wake up, and start cleaning. It’s my day devoted to laundry, dishes, vacuuming, sweeping/mopping my floors, and dishes. I also like to make Adam breakfast. Today, I made biscuits & gravy.

Sunday’s are my day to juice for the week, and also clean out my purse to get ready for the junk (receipts, gum wrappers, etc.) that will inevitably accumulate over the days to follow.

When I started this blog, I was excited to do some pretty standard blog posts, i.e. What’s In My Bag, Book Reviews, Products I love, etc.

So here we go…

I am so proud that this is ALL I have been carrying, lately. I am a huge fan of gigantic bags and stuffing them with everything, and anything. It even got so bad, that for awhile I was carrying TWO BAGS. One bag was my large tote with everything under the sun, and one was a mini cross-body that I would keep in my car for when I needed to run into the store, or bank, and didn’t want to lug my entire life with me. That worked pretty good, until I started having to carry a lunch bag, my makeup bag, and gym bag. Just to clarify, that was FIVE bags. About four bags too many.

Anyhow, let’s see what’s in my bag.

1. Wallet.

This wallet matches another bag I have, that I usually take when I’m traveling. I was just in Anchorage for work last week and haven’t switched to my normal wallet.

2. Snacks.

Because I am always tired, I need to carry high-protein, low-sugar guilt free snacks in my bag. I’ve really been loving these ThinkThin bars lately because they have 20 grams of Protein, 0 grams of Sugar (It’s still pretty sweet because it uses Sugar Alcohol), I eat the Cream Peanut Butter flavor because I have TMJ and it is easy on my jaw, not too chewy or chalky.

3. Lip Kit.

I always carry a mini-perfume because the Chanel Chance I spray in the morning does not last all day. This one in my bag is Dior. Also, I like to carry a lip balm, a lip pencil, a lipstick, and gloss.

-Lip Balm- Original Burt’s Bees Wax

-Lip Pencil- MAC Pro Longer Lip Pencil in Ms. Diva

-Lipstick- MAC Viva Glam in Satin

-Lipgloss- NARS Orgasm

4. iPhone 6 Plus.

I am obsessed with phone cases. My entire bedside drawer is filled with them. I should do an entire blog post showing all of my favorites. This one is fun because it’s marble print, and it doesn’t make my phone feel big & bulky. However, the headphone jack doesn’t work that great with my auxiliary chord in my car, as it  it affects the music.

5. Gum.

I only like Spearmint flavored gum and this Orbit chewing gum helps me when with cravings during the day. Candy cravings.

6. Vitamins.

As someone who is chronically-tired and always catching whatever bug is going around, I take Zinc and Emergen-C every single day. I usually prefer the Coconut-Pineapple Emergen-C, but thought I’d try the Tropical. It’s not my favorite. I like to pour my Emergen-C in a glass of hot water. It tastes much better this way.  I have noticed the Zinc has helped me over the past few months. I have only been sick once since December.

7. Lotion.

I am someone who HAS to put lotion on right after I wash my hands. I do not like how it feels otherwise. My hands feel tight, so I am always applying lotion throughout the day. It drives my coworkers nuts because they say it makes my keyboard slippery.

8. Catseye London Pug Cosmetic Bag.

This bag is awesome, it’s from Nordstrom and runs about $20-30. It is water-proof and great for traveling. As a migraine-sufferer, I use it to carry my Doterra Essential Oils Tension Blend Roller Ball, Excedrin, Vitamins, Bandaids, Kleenex, etc. Whatever you need, I probably have it.

9. Tea.

I try to always have a few bags of different herbal tea on hand. My favorite is Lemon-Ginger. I love Ginger. I was sick last week, so I am carrying Twinnings Chamomile, Honey, and Vanilla. It really helped my sore throat.

10. Kate Spade Weekly Planner.

This Kate Spade planner was gifted to me by a coworker. They know I love planners, and this one is adorable! I carry it around so I can write down any grocery lists, budget notes, upcoming bills, and events that I don’t want to forget.

Alright. Well there you have it.

Any fun or strange things you guys carry around in your bag, that would be beneficial for me to have?
